Lizzy - Black & Tan Miniature Longhaired Dachshund - Dinkidax Dollipop at Eastern counties Dachshund Open show 31st May 2009     Sire: Ch. Dinkidax Donny Rova JW - Dam: Dinkidax Midnite Conshirto.

LIZZY, a beautiful Miniature Longhaired Dachshund Bitch.  She been DNA tested  for PRA Cord 1 and the result is that she is a CARRIER

The Longhaired Dachshund Club held a Championship show at Ryton on  Dunsmore on Saturday 25th April. Lizzy was just 6 month and 6 days  old. I entered her in Minor Puppy Bitch and out of a class of 10 she came 5th. Not fantastic but at least a placing. The Northern Dachshund Association are held a Championship show on Sunday 3rd May 2009. The judge for the Miniature Longhaired classes was Stephanie Goddard, who in partnership with her husband Trevor and son Jeremy hold the record for the most CCs in the breed. I believe they have 69 CCs for their top winning bitch Ch. Minard Crystal D'Arque and counting. Lizzy came SECOND in minor puppy bitch and this qualified her for Crufts 2010 so I was very happy with that.

Thursday 7th May was the Birmingham National Ch. Show at New Bingley Showground in Stafford. Our Judge was from Hungary. he placed Lizzy SECOND in her class. The little girl is doing well. She walks very well on the lead - she just needs a bit more confidence when being touched by a total stranger. The Scottish Kennel Club was her next show held at the Royal Showground at Ingilston. We drove through torrential rain and storms to get to our overnight destination at Chris Russell's of Russteck Mini Wirehaired fame. Many thanks Chris for your wonderful hospitality. We arrived at the showground the weather fine but damp. Lizzy was very confident today, moved fantastically and was placed SECOND in her class. The Judge Frank Kane said she and the first place winner "were two beautiful puppies and would do well in the future". That made my day!!!!

An early departure from our friend Maureen Young of the Tarkus Mini Wires who had provided overnight accommodation for me and my dogs. Our destination was the Bath Championship Show. This showground is excellent and the facilities were second to none. Lizzy was entered into Minor Puppy Bitch and came SECOND in her class. Check out the video on the home page. Many thanks to Ian Seath who was our Judge for the day.

Boston & District Canine Society held and Open show at the Newark Showground on Wednesday 27th May. Judge for Miniature Longhaired Dachshunds was Linda Brown of the famous Garbosa kennels and she placed Lizzy FIRST in the Junior class. thank you very much Linda. Sunday 31st was the Eastern Counties Dachshund Association Open Show where Judge Carol Orton (Scalamour) judged all the miniature classes. Lizzy was in Puppy and out of eight came SECOND.

Fantastic day at The Ashfield Canine Society Open Show Sunday 14th June. No puppy class on offer so Lizzy had to go into Junior Class. She won this (another JW point) and then went on to take BOB and BPIB   and then to crown a wonderful day she came 4th in the Puppy Hound Group. Many thanks to Judge: Ian Layfield who judged the breed and Nick Goulay who judged the groups.

Three Counties Ch.Show was our next venue in Malvern. A long drive and very cold and windy. Not ideal for a young pup to be showing but after a very long wait we eventually got into the ring and Lizzy just managed a THIRD. Not her best effort sadly. But we will keep soldiering on. Blackpool Ch, Show was our next outing and decided with friend Karen Holden (Sengepabu) to drive up the day before and spend a leisurely evening on a very comfortable camp site (Jalna),  and having rested, drove to the showground feeling refreshed. Lizzy got a reputable THIRD placed out of eight but her litter sister Dinkidax Ebony and Ivory won Minor Puppy Bitch, Best Puppy Bitch and Best Puppy in Breed. What a great day for the Dinkidax Kennel. The following day we were at Crowle Open show where Lizzy was placed SECOND in the puppy class under Judge Ian Sidgwick.

Had a long drive up to Edinburgh for the Scottish Kennel Club Ch.Show. Our Judge was Gillian Raine (Regendachs). Gillian put a lot of emphasis on weight and some were over the desired limit and many were penalised for this. However, not a problem for Lizzy who came second in a very strong Puppy Bitch class.

The South Yorkshire Hound Society  held an Open Show at the Elsecar Heritage Centre on Saturday 12th September. Breed Judge was Janie Thomson of the Larklinn Kennels and she gave Lizzy - Best Puppy and Reserve Best of Breed. Best in Show and Best Puppy in Show Judge was Louis Dehaes (Du Jegdalek Belgium) who awarded Lizzy Reserve Best Puppy in Show. Then  to top off a great day we won £20 in the prize draw.

The following day I travelled to The East Yorkshire Dachshund Club Open Show. Lizzy won the Puppy Class and then went on to win Reserve Best Puppy in Show under Judge: Mrs. J. Breese ( Silkdown), and to finish off a great weekend Lizzy won Any Variety Dachshund Puppy Stakes.

Darlington Dog Show Society was the next event in the show calender. Our Judge today was Mrs. Patricia Dalgety-Rodgers who awarded Lizzy 1st in the Puppy Bitch class and gave her Best Puppy in Breed - Many thanks to the Judge for a lovely day.

Stafford Canine Society Open Show was our next event. Mrs. V. Watkinson of the Manakoora Miniature Smooths judged and she gave Lizzy a 2nd. Lizzy has had to miss a few shows due to having a false pregnancy and is not in full bloom at present. She will shortly be back in the ring.

Mrs. Pauline Sidgwick was the Judge at West Riding Dachshund Association Open Show on 28th November 2009 - Lizzy won the Junior Class. What a good girl!!!

Lizzy came a reputable 3rd in the Junior Class at the Ladies Kennel Club Ch. Show on 10th December 2009 under Judge Miss Helen Geeson.

The Hound Day of Crufts arrived on 12th March 2010. We set off early with high hopes of a good day. Lizzy came 3rd in the Junior Bitch class under Judge Mrs. Tessa Thomas (Shenaligh) which qualified her for entry to Crufts 2011. Many thanks Tessa. Another lovely rosette to add to our collection. Lizzy came out of the show ring to become a Mum when she had three lovely puppies. She will be back in the show ring once she gets her figure back!!! This is probably a long shot. Lizzy has lost her waist line and I am making attempts to try and get her weight down.. I have plenty of time to work on this as I don't intend to bring her back into the show ring until early 2011 if at all.

Dinkidax Broxa Boy - Looking Good Dinkidax Broxa Boy son of Ch. Wildstar Wrenowned JW - Dinkidax Dollipop. will make his debut 18th December 2010
